PYI is a youth-led civil society organization dedicated to strengthening youth involvement and participation to realize and utilize their potential through youth capacity building towards the sustainable development of society.

PYI is currently mobilizing support to empower young climate champions, expand access to cleaner cooking, and restore mangrove ecosystems. Your contribution can help turn community-led climate action into practical, lasting change for vulnerable households and Zanzibar’s coastal communities.
About the Campaign
At PYI, we believe climate action should start with the people and communities most affected by environmental change.
In Zanzibar, 46.9% of households rely on firewood and 28.9% on charcoal as their primary cooking fuel, while only 12.8% use LPG.
This dependence contributes to indoor air pollution, pressure on forests, environmental degradation, and climate vulnerability.
We are raising $5,000 to expand access to cleaner cooking, empower youth and women to lead climate action, and support the restoration of Zanzibar's coastal ecosystems.
